PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic endoscope device capable of making magnify ing power on the right and left equal automatically. SOLUTION: This stereoscopic endoscope device 1 is constituted such that a stereoscopic endoscope 1A has an optical system forming a pair of images of an object having different parallax on each of photographing faces of a CCD built in TV cameras 4a, 4b and a pair of images of the object photographed by the CCD are alternately or simultaneously displayed to obtain a stereoscopic image. The stereoscopic endoscope 1A has a pair of variable power optical systems and a drive mechanism changing magnifying power of a pair of images of the object. A zoom control unit 8 compares a pair of images of the object obtained by picture signals from a CCU-A5a and a CCU-B5 b and controls the drive mechanism so that size of a pair of images of the object become substantially equal based on the results of comparison.
