PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle device capable of suppressing generation of vibration by reducing a change of balance of a spindle due to dislocation of a spring member. SOLUTION: The spindle device can clamp and unclamp a tool holder 6 against a head end of the spindle 5 by advancing and retreating a draw bar 9 by telescopic action of a hydraulic cylinder 16 by inserting the draw bar 9 into the spindle 5 rotatably supported in a housing 2 freely advancingly and retreatingly in the shaft center direction and in a energized state to the side to constantly retreat by compression coil springs 14a, 14b. In this device, particularly central dislocation of the compression coil springs 14a, 14b is prevented by bringing the compression coil sprints 14a, 14b wound around on the draw bar 9 with spacers 15a, 15b, 15c for bearing the compression coil springs 14a, 14b on the draw bar 9 contact on tapered surface parts 20a, 20b and a tapered surface 19.
