PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer tomography apparatus capable of scanning an inspection zone along the track of the configuration of a helix by causing a source of radiation to release a conical radiant beam, while transmitting CT data such that signal-to-noise ratios are improved so that an CT image having a spatial distribution of better signal-to-noise ratios can be reconstructed. SOLUTION: A detector connected to the source of radiation comprises a plurality of spaced detection segments, which are positioned to axially deviate from one another, with a projection onto the helix covering at least two adjacent turns of the helix. With such a detector, the CT image having improved and spatially more uniformly distributed signal-to-noise ratios can be reconstructed from the CT data.
