PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively forming an antireflection layer on the surface of an optical article having a non-regular shape. SOLUTION: In the method for producing an optical article having an antireflection layer, a formed part having a three-dimensional shape is arranged on the space between a discharge electrode and a counter electrode arranged so as to be confronted, and discharge plasma is generated to form an antireflection layer on the surface of the formed part, the discharge electrode and the counter electrode have the shape to be screwed onto the formed part.
