PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive, shock-eliminating boundary block having a pattern excellent in design which will not vanish nor discolor even if the block is used for a long period. SOLUTION: The boundary block comprises a block-shaped base 1 made from rubber chips t1 derived from crushed waste rubber tires and hardened with a binder, and a thin surface layer 2 made from colored rubber chips t2 hardened with a binder, and secured to at least the top surface and each side face of the base 1. The surface layer 2 comprises a base portion 20 formed with at least one hole 20a, and patterned sheet portions 21a tightly fitted into the holes 20a in the base portion 20, with the colors of the patterned sheet portions differing from the color of the base portion 20.
