PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a reflector that it can be seen bright in a specified viewing angle range although it has light diffusing property to suppress reflection in a wide viewing angle range, and to provide a reflection type liquid crystal display device which uses the above reflector. SOLUTION: A plurality of concaved parts 3a, 3b, 3c having light reflecting property are formed on the surface of a substrate. Each concaved part has a specified vertical cross section passing the deepest point of the concave and showing the following properties. The specified vertical cross section is formed by a first curved line from one periphery of the concave to the deepest point and by a second curved line continuous with the first line and from the deepest point of the concave to the other periphery. The average of the absolute tilt angle of the first curved line to the substrate surface is larger than the average of the absolute tilt angle of the second curved line to the substrate surface. |
