PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an AC electric machine for vehicles, which reduces noise generated in a rotation position detector for controlling, and detects a rotation angle accurately. SOLUTION: This AC machine is provided with an AC electric machine body 100, a second shaft 30, a second rotor 21, and a rotational position detector 20 for controlling. The machine body 100 has a rotor 10 having a first shaft 12 supported in a freely rotatable way with a pair of bearings 16, 17, a rotor core 8 stuck to the first shaft 12, and a field coil 9 wound on the rotor core 8, and a stator 3 having a stator core 1 counterposed to the rotor 10, and multiphase stator coil 2 wound on the stator core 1. The second shaft 30 is connected to the first shaft 12 through large magnetic reluctance areas 32, 33. The second rotor is stuck to the second shaft 30, and the position detector 20 has a second stator coil 22a which generates output voltage on the basis of the rotation of the second rotor 21. |
