The invention relates to an optical waveguide connection (1) and to a method for producing an optical waveguide connection (1) comprising a first optical waveguide (2) and a second optical waveguide (3), which are coupled to one another at a coupling location whereby forming a continuous optical waveguide strand (10). The optical waveguide strand (10) comprises, in the area of the coupling location (8) of both optical waveguides (2, 3), a constriction (12) having a minimal diameter section (12') and two intermediate sections (12'', 12'''), which are respectively located on either side of the minimal diameter section (12'), and which outwardly extend along the optical waveguide strand (10) while increasing in size up to that of the outer diameter of the associated optical waveguide (2, 3). In doing this, the minimal diameter section (12'), along the optical waveguide strand (10), is arranged in an offset manner with regard to the coupling location (8).
