The invention concerns a method enabling at least a user (u1, u1') to consult a desired electronic document corresponding to a file (Aext.1) stored in a specific storage location, said method being designed to be implemented with a computing platform comprising file storage means and means for displaying the original document on a visual interface such as a display screen, said method comprising: A. the user providing an individual file information (Aext1, A@ext1), D. the opening of a file corresponding to the desired document, E. and displaying said desired document. The invention is characterised in that the method further comprises: B. selection by the user of a sequenced list (LOC1) of storage addresses of the computing platform comprising at least a storage address of the computing platform, prior to step D, C. automatic search, by the computing platform, in the sequenced list of addresses, of the file whereof the associated information corresponds to the individual information provided by the user, after step B and prior to step D. The invention also concerns a system for implementing said method.
