PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hypotensive agent composition capable of suppressing the increase of blood pressure and improving hypertension, reducing the amount of a hypotensive agent used and further suppressing side effects associated with the hypotensive agent, and having improved usefulness as a medicine for preventing and treating hypertension. SOLUTION: (a) A compound selected from a group consisting of coffeic acid, chlorogenic acid and ferulic acid, esters of the compounds, and pharmaceutically permissible salts of the compounds, and (b) a hypotensive agent composition containing a hypotensive agent.
