PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device which will not cause lowering of discharging efficiency, because the barrier ribs and the dielectric surface of a back plate can be cleaned easily so as not to have resist left, so that impurity gas is not produced. SOLUTION: In processes prior to barrier rib insertion in opening portions of a resist pattern or burning of electrodes is completed, by cleaning the opening portions and the electrodes with ozonic water or ionic water, their resist removability and the insulating property between the electrodes are improved. Additionally, there will not be resist left in the plasma display device and generation of impurity gas are prevented, and the lowering of discharging efficiency will not occur.
