PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that an operation command has to be sent from a personal computer in the case of using a scanner device connected to a network and the operation is complicated. SOLUTION: Only by the operation of this scanner device, original data read by the scanner device can be transmitted through the network to a desired personal computer. For that, the scanner device 1 is provided with an address specifying means for specifying a transmission destination, a mail preparation means for preparing mail to be transmitted to the address, an attached file preparation means for preparing read original image data as the attached file of a mail, and a transmission means for outputting the prepared mail and attached file to the network.
