PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio information processor which includes an audio information recording and reproducing device that executes notification for a user relative to an audio information file small in number of times of reproducing, and to provide an audio information processing method. SOLUTION: When a reproducing history of a track 1 is not recorded, it is judged whether a prescribed time has been elapsed or not after the recording of the track 1 (a step 208). When it is judged that the prescribed time has been elapsed after the recording of the track 1, a message is displayed on a display panel 162 so that a user conducts a backup of the track 1 (a step 212). Moreover, when it is determined that the prescribed time has been elapsed after the previous reproducing of the track 1, a message is also displayed on the panel 162 to ask for the user to conduct a backup of the track 1 (a step 212).
