PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that conventionally turning the processing speed higher cannot be expected because arbitrary data is fetched by software, from communication data received in units of packets from a network by a conventional technique. SOLUTION: The parallel-processing capture unit is provided with a plurality of processing parts 2, equipped with information storage registers 1 used to store data, and a plurality of starting-point and end-point storage registers 3, which specify the range of the data stored in the registers 1. In the capture unit, when the arbitrary data are fetched from the received communication data to be transferred to the registers 1, the data are controlled to be in a range (the bit number of the starting point and the end point) of the data to be input registered in the registers 3; only the registered data are fetched simultaneously and in parallel with the registers 1; and only the data are fetched, in such a way that the field boundary of the data is not built inside the registers 1.
