A potentiator for neurotrophin effect comprising a 6(5H)-phenanthridinone derivative represented by the following formula (I): (wherein R<1> and R<2> are the same or different and each independently represents a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom and R<3> represents an amino group) or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof is useful as a preventive or therapeutic agent for neurodegenerative diseases.
