PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor which can easily convert information into other information formats and which can transmit and receive symbol information at inexpensive cost. SOLUTION: The data processor is provided with a reading part 13 to read a document 2 including at least symbol information 4, a data processing means 14, and a voice output part 20. The data processing means 14 extracts the symbol information 4 from image information read by the reading part 13, convert the symbol information 4 into digital information, and transduces the digital information into an audio signal, and then the voice output part 20 transduces the audio signal into voice.
