PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which prevents the damage and the occurrence of wrinkles of an optical sheet caused by a guide panel. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal panel 32, a backlight assembly that irradiates light to the side of the liquid crystal panel, a panel guide 42 to support the liquid crystal panel below by arranging it between the backlight assembly and the liquid crystal panel, and a gap maintaining/heat shielding member 54 to maintain the gap between the panel guide and the backlight assembly by arranging it between the panel guide and the backlight assembly and at the same time shield the flow of heat and foreign materials to the side of the liquid crystal panel.
