PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicylinder internal combustion engine capable of securing a good engine stating property and reducing an emission amount of an unburnt fuel in an engine start. SOLUTION: When the fuel is supplied to only a partial cylinder #1 by intake non-synchronous injection and partial cylinder operation is carried out, an engine is started. When a predetermined engine operation state is established after completion of initial explosion of the partial cylinder, the fuel is supplied to cylinders #3 excepting the partial cylinder by means of intake synchronous injection, and overall cylinder operation is carried out.
