PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new cyclic nucleotide derivative which is a reaction precursor useful for examining the intracellular functional movement of a cyclic nucleotide and the interaction of the cyclic nucleotide on cell membranes and capable of being easily condensed with a known coloring matter having a fluorophore, and to provide a method for producing the new cyclic nucleotide derivative. SOLUTION: This cyclic nucleotide derivative represented by the general formula (1) [R1 is OH or NH2; R2 is H or NH2; R3 is NH2 or SH; (n) is an integer of 2 to 4]. The method for producing the cyclic nucleotide derivative represented by the general formula (1), characterized by reacting a cyclic nucleotide represented by the general formula (2) with 1,1'-carbonyldiimidazole and then reacting the obtained cyclic nucleotide intermediate with a compound represented by the general formula (5): H2N(CH2)nR3.
