PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning prompting system for grease filters of ventilation fans which is suited for obliging a user to periodically clean the grease filter. SOLUTION: The prompting system counts the number of switch-on times of a fan driving switch and sounds an alarm for prompting the cleaning of a grease filter 8 from a sound generator 11 every time when a stepwise preset specified cumulative count thereof is totalized. The alarm becomes strong every time when a stepwise preset specified cumulative count is totalized.
