PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To equalize oil supplied to suction ports 4a, 4a' in a vane pump wherein oil supplied to a pair of the suction ports 4a, 4a' provided to make a phase difference of 180 degrees through an oil reserving chamber 2b provided between a bypass port 2a and the housing 2 of the outer periphery of a rotor 6 is sucked to a small chamber 8 by the increase of the volume of the small chamber 8 defined between vanes 7 together with the rotation of the rotor 6, discharged from each discharge port 4b, 4b' by the decrease of t. SOLUTION: Out of the two suction ports 4a.4a' in the position of symmetry with 180 degrees, the first suction port 4a was located on the by-pass port 2a side rather than the suction port 4a'.
