The invention relates to a fuel injection valve (1), especially a fuel injection valve for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, comprising a valve needle (3) whose valve closing body (4) interacts with a valve seat surface (6) to form a sealed seat, and an armature (20) which acts on said valve needle (3). The armature (20) is arranged on the valve needle (2) in such a way as to be axially moveable and is damped with a damping element (32) consisting of an elastomer. A ring-shaped chamber (37) is formed between the damping element (32) and the valve needle (3), this ring-shaped chamber (37) being filled with fuel and being connected to a throttle gap (39).
