PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus for which necessary maintenance can be executed before generation of troubles. SOLUTION: There are provided a printing mechanism 110 for forming images onto papers and the controller 130 for controlling in relation to forming images. The controller 130 includes a means 118 for acquiring information showing types of papers, a means 131 for obtaining a total number of papers for every type on the basis of the acquired information on the types of papers, a means 134 for storing information which sets the number of papers as a maintenance starting condition, and the obtained total number of papers for every type of papers, the means 131 for comparing the total number of papers being used at present with the stored maintenance starting condition and judging whether or not the total number satisfies the maintenance starting condition, and the means 131 for carrying out a maintenance process when the condition is satisfied. |
