PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the degradation in the activity of bacteria in methanation vessels and to make recovery therefrom. SOLUTION: The biogasification device has a hydrolysis vessel 1 and the two methanation vessels 2a and 2b connected in parallel to the rear stage of the hydrolysis vessel 1. The device is provided with a replacing means for partially replacing the contents of the one methanation vessel of the two methanation vessels 2a and 2b with the contents of the other optional methanation vessel. The replacing means has take-out flow passages 3a and 3b disposed in correspondence to the respective methanation vessels 2a and 2b, return flow passages 7a and 7b and an aggregating flow passage 5. The suppression of the degradation in the activity of the bacteria or the recovery therefrom is made possible by partially replacing the contents of the methanation vessel in which the degradation in the activity of the bacteria occurs among the two methanation vessels 2a and 2b with the contents of the other methanation vessel in which the activity of the bacteria is maintained.
