PURPOSE: A method and a system for operating auction are provided to secure items of many and unspecified sellers by purchasing or conclusion of a sales agency contract via an expert bidder and to add the items to the on-line auction. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of an expert bidder buying items from many and unspecified sellers and paying the prices(S604,S608), the sellers selling the items and accepting the payment(S602,S606), the expert bidder connecting to an auction mediating server(S610), the expert bidder registering the auction information about the items to sell(S612), a buyer connecting to the auction mediating server(S614), the buyer searching the information of the items registered by the expert bidder(S616), the buyer participating in the bid by offering an estimation condition about the item to the auction mediating server(S618), and the auction mediating server selecting a winner based on such a reference as the maximum bid price or the maximum purchasing amount by comparing and examining the estimation condition(S620).
