A UV curable coating composition for an ink-receiving layer that is required for ink jet printing and an optical recording medium having the ink-receiving layer formed by the UV curable coating composition are provided. The UV curable coating composition includes a (meth)acrylate monomer, a (meth)acrylate oligomer, N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone, and inorganic and organic pigments. An ink-receiving layer formed by the UV curable coating composition shows excellent adhesion to substrates, ink absorption and adsorption, drying efficiency, and water resistance in ink jet printing. Therefore, high quality recording media can be formed. |
