PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breather valve that permits its valve operation to be monitored from a distant place via a simple means and without an interference with the valve operation, and is optimally installable on a fluid storage tank of every type. SOLUTION: The breather valve 10 is installed on a fluid storage tank to ensure breathing of the internal pressure of the tank, and is provided with valves 4 and 5 respectively positioned in an inlet 2 for outside air introduction and an outlet 3 for tank interior gas discharge formed in a valve casing 1. A temperature sensor 9 is arranged in at least either of a passage 6 near the inlet 2 and a passage 7 near the outlet 3 to detect a change in temperature of gas in the passage due to the generation of a gas flow by an intake and discharge. A signal from the temperature sensor 9 is converted into an electrical signal and then displayed to permit the operations of the valves 4 and 5 to be monitored.
