PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that can be used for a remote control transmitter of other devices. SOLUTION: The digital camera 10 of this invention is provided with a wireless communication section 84, that has an image transmission function and an external device (e.g. a personal computer) has a similar wireless communication section. When the camera approaches the external device related thereto in advance, the external device can operate the camera through wireless communication. The camera transfers a newly photographed image to the external device by means of the wireless communication. In this case, transmission contents are encrypted, on the basis of identification information of a communication opposite party. A user can browse a received mage by the external device and an operation section 52 of the camera body can remotely control a page feed, display with magnification, image erasure and printout or the like of a browsed image of the external device. Furthermore, the external device classifies the received image, on the basis of attached information such as a date and a photographing condition and exhibits the received image to the user through virtual folder indication.
