PURPOSE: An airtight container based on polyester is provided, which has an oxygen-blocking property, as well as resistances to oil and soil and is useful to store Kimchi. CONSTITUTION: The airtight container based on polyester is comprised of a main body and a lid. The main body consists of polyester based resins, which are made by copolymerizing 1-50 mole% of polyethylene naphthalate and 50-99 mole% of polyethylene terephthalate. The container also have physical properties as follows: thermal deformation temperature of 65-95deg.C, transparency of more than 85%, permeability to oxygen of 1.5-6.5(cc/100 inch square·day·atm), blocking to ultraviolet light of 320-385 nm. The lid is made by melt-injection molding polyester based resins, otherwise by double-injection molding polyester based resins and polyolefin based resin, or polyester based resins and elastomer resins, respectively. |
