TRANSFLECTIVE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A transflective LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to reduce the color difference in a transmission mode and a reflection ode, as well as to minimize light leakage in a transmission mode by lowering the gap difference between a passivation layer and a reflection electrode. CONSTITUTION: A transflective LCD consists of a transmission part(G) and a reflection part(H). A pixel electrode(119) defining the transmission part and the reflection part includes a reflection electrode(119b) having a transmission hole(120) and a transparent electrode(119a) positioned between the reflection electrode and an insulating layer of a second passivation layer(175). A cell gap(d5) of the transmission part is formed twice as large as a cell gap(d6) of the reflection part. A passivation layer(118) set at the transmission part is etched with specific depth, and a gap is applied to a color filter(117) corresponding to the transmission part. Thereby, the cell gap difference of the transmission part and the reflection part is defined. The light leakage at the boundary between the reflection part and the transmission part is prevented.
