PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lipid peroxidation inhibitor that is useful as a prophylactic or therapeutic for intestinal mucus disorder, for example, ulcerative colitis, large intestine cancer and the like and for aging, because the inhibitor can reduce the oxidative stress to intestinal mucous membrane and can become commercial items suitable for increasing the body healthiness by preventing and improving the intestinal diseases and ageing in the present time that the damage to intestinal mucous membrane can be inhibited without inhibition of internal absorption of iron ions with high safety and the iron supplement food and iron ion preparations are daily taken. SOLUTION: This lipid peroxidation inhibitor comprises the cell bodies or the constitution components of the cell bodies of a microorganism belonging to Bifidobacterium or Streptococcus as an active ingredient. This invention additionally relates to prophylactics and therapeutics for damages of intestinal mucous membrane including the peroxidation inhibitor and health foods and beverages containing the same. |
