PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding material which contains PTFE as a main component, does not contain lead, maintains good sliding characteristics, and has improved abrasion-resistant characteristics. SOLUTION: The bushing 1 is manufactured by forming a porous sintered metal layer 4 comprising copper on the surface side of a back metal layer 2 comprising a steel plate through a copper plated layer 3 and further impregnating and coating the inner portion and surface of the porous sintered metal layer 4 with a sliding material 5. The sliding material 5 characterized by comprising PTFE as a main component (in an amount of >=50 vol.% based on the total amount of the sliding material), 3 to 40 vol.% of Bi and/or Bi alloy particles, 1 to 40 vol.% of a molten fluororesin such as PFA, 0.1 to 20 vol.% of hard particles such as W or Al2O3, and 0.1 to 20 vol.% of a solid lubricant such as graphite. |
