PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect the copyright of a data, and also to efficiently record the data. SOLUTION: A control part 7 controls a reproduction part 1 and a recording part 2, to dub a prescribed musical data recorded on a CD (Compact Disk) on an MD (Mini Disk) at a high rate. A storage part 3 stores the copyright information indicating whether or not each musical data on the CD is inhibited in high-rate recording. From the copyright information, the control part 7 discriminates whether or not musical data intended for high-rate dubbing are inhibited in high-rate dubbing, and performs the high-rate dubbing when it is discriminated that the data are not inhibited in high-rate dubbing. Moreover, when starting the high-rate dubbing, the control part 7 updates the copyright information to indicate that the high-rate dubbing musical data are inhibited in the high-rate dubbing, and after a prescribed time has passed since the high- rate dubbing is started, the control part updates the copyright information to indicate that the musical data dubbed at a high-rate are not inhibited in high-rate dubbing. |
