The light source (4) is an electric one connected to a chargeable power supply circuit (5) on the float (3). The dish (1) containing the liquid (2) has a wall (8) with a first contact (9, 10) on its inner side, connected to an electric voltage source. A periodically activatable magnet (12) is mounted on the same dish wall. A second contact (6, 7) on the outside of the float is connected to the power supply circuit and can be brought into contact with the second contact. The float contains magnetic material. A control device is used to periodically active the magnet so that the float is moved towards the dish wall by magnetic attraction, causing the two contacts to be brought into contact with each other so that the power supply circuit is charged. The control device can also be used to active a repulsion device (14) for moving the float away from the dish wall once the circuit has been charged.
