PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor drive control method which suppresses heating of the motor and reduces its power consumption. SOLUTION: In the stepping motor drive control method, with which a carriage motor and a feed motor of a printer are made into a stepping motor 14 by a constant current drive system, a controller 11 reduces the current of the stepping motor 14 on hold, which keeps its hold status, except when it is in operation to a level which will not influence its hold operation. |
