PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce ripple noise, which is generated on a power supply when plural backlight modules are turned on/off simultaneously to change simultane ously an electric current carried to the power supply, without increasing the cost of a power supply smoothing circuit. SOLUTION: In this backlight luminance control method, when turning on/off of plural backlight modules are repeated to adjust the luminance of backlight, time phases of lighting plural backlight modules are made to shift in staggered manner, to reduce simultaneous change amount of power supply electric current. The ripples of the power supply voltage is thereby controlled to be low. |
