PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron gun used in a cathode-ray tube, having excellent focusing characteristic and large freedom in design. SOLUTION: This electron gun for a cathode-ray tube 20 comprises a main focusing lens and a pre-focusing lens of uni-potential structure. A potential is supplied from a resistor 11 installed in a cathode-ray tube body to a center electrode 4 among the electrodes 3D, 3S, 4, 5S, and 5D forming the pre-focus lens.
