<p>A system and method for retrieving information supplemental to video programming. Transcript text is searched for terms of interest and information associated with the terms is identified. Depending upon a user profile and the category of video segment being viewed, the supplemental information is formatted for display. Over time, the rules for associating the supplemental information with the terms of interest may be modified using a learning model.</p> |
