PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for connecting and housing optical fiber single coated fibers which are intermediately drawn out of optical fibers. SOLUTION: Plural optical fibers, wherein each of optical fiber single coated fibers 44, 46 which are intermediately drawn out of a trunk optical cable 40 is connected to each of optical fiber single coated fibers 54, 56 of branching optical cables 50, 51, are housed in extra length housing trays 30. The extra length housing trays 30 that are fitted into guide grooves 22 of an extra length housing tray holder 20 are slid and fixed to the extra length housing tray holder 20 at the optimal position so that stress is not exerted on the optical fiber single coated fibers 44, 46 and at the same time the optical fiber single coated fibers 54, 56 are not relaxed.
