A method of forming a joint between an elongate member (10) and a socket (16) involves forming the socket (16) in a body (11) to receive an end of the elongate member (10 ) with a clearance (14), except at a mouth of the socket. An annular recess (17) is formed around the socket (16) and an injection passage (18) extends through the body (11) into the recess (17). The end of the elongate member (10) is located in the socket (16) and adhesive is injected through the passage (18) and into the recess (17). |
