PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate excellent in optical characteristics and a liquid crystal display device using the same. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is constituted by sticking a protective film and a polarizer formed by subjecting a synthetic resin film to dyeing, crosslinking, stretching and drying. When thickness of an original synthetic resin film is A, thickness of the polarizer alone after sticking the protective film thereto is B, total stretching magnification of the synthetic resin film from the original film till sticking the protective film thereto is C, the polarizing has a relation described below.
