PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear unit capable of reducing noises. SOLUTION: In the gear unit 1 including an input gear 3 and an output gear 5 journaled on the same axis, a recess part 11 is formed in a side face of the output gear 5 and an insertion part 9 for insertion into the recess part 11 is provided on a side face of the input gear 3. Indentations 11a are formed on the inner periphery of the recess part 3 in the output gear 5 and indentations are also formed on the outer periphery of the insertion part 9 of the input gear. A rubber damper 7 is interposed between the inner periphery of the recess part 11 and the outer periphery of the insertion part 9 and is formed with an inner peripheral fitting part 7b which fits the indentations formed on the inner periphery of the recess part 11 and an outer peripheral fitting part 7a which fits the indentations formed on the outer periphery of the insertion part 9.
