PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact wiper control device of high reliability and positive action using semiconductor switching elements and a digitally controlled controller and solving a problem at the occurrence of short circuit abnormality downstream a wiper motor. SOLUTION: This wiper control device comprises a combination switch 2; the wiper motor 7; an AS switch 8; the first semiconductor switching element 4 for switching on/off current application to the wiper motor 7; the second semiconductor switching element 5 for making a backward current flow to the wiper motor 7 at the off time of current application to the wiper motor 7 to switch on a closed circuit for braking; the controller 3 for controlling the on/off of the first and second semiconductor switching elements 4, 5; and a current limiting resistance R1 for limiting the current flowing through the second semiconductor switching element 5.
