PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the conventional valve plate driving device of a gate valve that a mechanically movable part such as a pivot pin or the like probably generates impurity. SOLUTION: In this valve plate driving device of a gate valve, a valve plate and a driving means for it are connected to each other by an inclined plate spring, whereby when the valve plate is moved to a position opposite to a valve seat, the valve plate is inhibited from being further moved.
