<p>Apparatus for providing computerless surfing of an information network. The apparatus includes a telephone connection allowing an individual caller from among a population of subscribers to make an incoming call to the central apparatus, a menu selection acceptor operative to accept at least one menu selection from the individual caller, a server connecting the incoming call to an information network and surfing the information network responsive to the caller's menu selections, to access textual information of interest to the caller, and a text-to-speech converter operative to convert the textual information of interest to the caller into speech output and to feed the speech output over the telephone connection to the individual caller. <IMAGE></p> |
