<p>A communication system for the access to service provision centres (10A, 10B, 10C) by peripheral terminals (4a, 4b...4n) uses memory cards (6) to enable access to a centre. The cards (6) are arranged to store, besides identification and authentication data, a copy of data sets which are stored in data bases (3A, 3B, 3C) of said centres and which the owner of the card (6) is authorised to access, and, in case the connection with a desired centre (10A, 10B, 10C) is impossible, the service is locally managed, by using the data stored in the card (6). <IMAGE></p> |
