PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera and a flashing device capable of surely reducing a red-eye phenomenon without dazzling an object person's eyes by a flash by using a lamp other than the flashing part at the time of photographing. SOLUTION: This camera and flashing device is provided with a flashing means 15 for flashing light of brightness lower than the flashing, and control means 22, 23, 25 that control the brightness of the flashing means 15, and emit light showing an operating period of a self-timer at the time of photographing with the self-timer, auxiliary light for detecting the focus at the time of auto- focus photographing and light for reducing the red-eye phenomenon at the time of photographing with flash. The control means 22, 23, 25 control at least once to increase the brightness of the flashing means 15 during the period from the start of light emission for reducing the red-eye phenomenon until the end of the emission. |
