摘要 The invention relates to a method and to a device for generating electromagnetic fields that have high field intensity and field homogeneity in areas of any chosen size in which articles as well as solid, liquid or gaseous substances or substance mixtures can be treated in a waveguiding annular closed waveguide structure under atmospheric or non-atmospheric conditions such as pressure and vacuum for the purpose of modifying their properties, nature, geometry, structure and composition. The figure shows the basic structure of the annular resonator (1). The device comprises a waveguiding annular waveguide structure (2), a generator (3), a circulator (4), a directional coupler (5), a treatment chamber (6) and a phase shifter (7). The electromagnetic waves (S) fed by the generator (3) are transmitted via the directional coupler (5) in substantially only one sense (V). In this manner, the energy not converted in the annular resonator (1) remains in the annular resonator (1) after every circulation, thereby contributing to the reinforcement of the electrical field.
