The device is made of two soft outer layers of foam rubber and a more rigid foam core, all covered with a suitable fabric. The shape of the concave central space is adjusted to the contours of the stomach of the patient. Depending on the specific needs of the user, one of the two armrests can be longer in order to offer particular support for the paralyzed arm. The device is provided with strips of Velcro (RTM) which can be fastened to matching patches positioned at the wheelchair.
