The method involves filtering input data, isolating packets with matching identification data, setting headers representing time positions in the input data, combining to form received data, storing, reading out for reproduction, whereby data packets are separated from headers, null packets are added to packets corresponding to the time separation of subsequent packets in the input data, and combing data/null packets to form an output data stream. The method involves filtering the input data stream and isolating packets with corresponding packet identification data, setting header information in the isolated packets representing their time position in the input data stream, combining them to form a reception data stream, storing this on a memory medium, reading it out for reproduction, whereby the data packets are separated from the header information in the read out data stream and null packets are added to each data packet corresponding to the time separation of the subsequent data packet in the input data stream, and combing the read out packets and the null packets to form an output data stream.
